The film begins with a couple of raunchy teenagers going into a bedroom upstairs at a Halloween party, Joe a very confident, outgoing and egotistical lad who loves life. After he has sat Sarah the shy, hard working school girl down on the bed he says he will go get them a couple of drinks as she is clearly very nervous. As she is sat there alone she begins to text her friend in shock of what is happening as she is upstairs with the coolest, most wanted guy at school! After a few good minutes the girl begins to get nervous thinking this was all just a joke from the cool girls and that Joe didn't like her. Sarah eventually goes downstairs to find no one remaining at the party, as she walks through the house she finds the locked room that everyone was instructed not to open, open. Still thinking its all a joke she walks in there to find them all when in reality she is greeted to Joe's body hung on the wall like a crucifix. Sarah becomes extremely scared and contacts the police straight away, and she is taken in for questioning.
Sarah is then back at school where no one wants to speak to her or even contact her as rumours have spread that she was the one to kill Joe. Even her friends seem to not be fully sure what to actually believe about Sarah. When the end of the day comes Sarah begins walking home when she is stopped by some of the cool girls who were friends with Joe. They begins harassing her claiming they know what she did and they even end up hitting her. When she gets home when she is brought to tears about everything that has happened within the past few days.
The next day at school, her whole class walks into their English class to find their teacher crucified and killed in the exact same way as Joe, when Sarah runs away because of the sight that reminded her of Joe more rumours are sparked about her to the point where not even her friends want to speak to her anymore. It is soon announced that the police have arrested a suspect who is believed to be the killer.
Towards the end of the film Sarah is alone due to her Mother working late, she becomes extremely anxious of being alone in the house even though the supposed killer is in custody. As the night goes on all seems fine until suddenly Sarah is doused in darkness. The lights have been cut. She begins to hear a voice from all directions. Suddenly the lights are back on, before her stands her Father. A devout Christian who believed that his daughter was the spawn of Satan who left when she was born to protect his own afterlife. Except he realised that wasn't good enough and he has to kill her to guarantee himself a place in heaven. He reveals all of this to Sarah in a monologue. Finally the Father walks up to Sarah and stabs her, finally achieving what he always wanted. The film comes to a close when the police and the mother are looking at Sarah's crucified body on the front door and the Father is nowhere to be seen
The first three minutes:
The film begins within the midst of a teenage Halloween party where people are dressed up and drinking. The music at the party is playing extremely loud, the characters can barely hear themselves think. As the camera moves through the house showing all the teenagers enjoying the party, the audience is introduced to the main character of the film, Sarah, a young, hard-working, head smart girl who feels quite out of place at this party. We see her talking to Joe, the cool, popular kid who all the girls want. We see people walking past her giving her dirty looks, showing again how uncomfortable she feels and that other people don't expect her to be there. We then see Joe whisper something in Sarah's ear and the begin to walk upstairs. Sarah still looks very uncomfortable and the rest of the people at the party are extremely confused by what they are doing. They go into a free bedroom and Sarah sits down on the bed, Joe can clearly see she's uncomfortable, so he says he'll go get them some drinks so they can relax. When he goes downstairs, still music playing very loudly, Sarah begins to text her friend as she doesn't know what to do, and wants some reassurance. She puts her phone down by her lap and waits for Joe, she keeps waiting for Joe to come until about 15 minutes has passed. Sarah begins to walkout of the room and downstairs to face all the cool kids who she thinks has made a joke of her and it was all just a prank with Joe. When she gets downstairs no one is to be seen. She looks all over until she finds the room that everyone was told not to go in open slightly. She slowly opens the door expecting everyone to be there and laughing at her when she is greeted by Joe's dead, mutilated body crucified on the wall.
