Day aht’ in Sheff (Final Script)

James McGovern, a middle aged man from Sheffield, was inspired by football hooliganism from a young age and wished to follow his fathers foot steps as part of, the Owls Crime Squad, Sheffield Wednesday's firm. Every weekend getting himself into football violence travelling all over the country to watch his team and give someone a kick in. On the 11th of March 2017, towards the back end of the football season, the quarter final of the FA cup, Sheffield Wednesday Vs Sheffield United. The first Steel City derby in 5 years. To be played at Bramall Lane. James McGovern and his lads get ready for an eventful day.
James wakes up to the famous tune "Hi Ho Silver Lining", Sheffield Wednesday's anthem, playing from his alarm clock. Instantly realised today was match day, but not any normal match day. Today was the quarter final of the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday's biggest rivals and the OCS's rival firm, Sheffield United and the BBC (Blades Business Crew). He kicks the covers off and kicks his wife out of bed and starts chanting at the top of his voice. He then goes downstairs, gets out a cereal bowl and a box of cereal. He pours the cereal into the bowl and soaks it with a can of Fosters. Then eats his cereal whilst on the early sesh.

Soon to go upstairs to take a quick shower and chuck on his clobber. Gets his cap, stone island jumper, jeans, scarf and adidas trainers straight on and off he goes. Quckly kissing his wife and telling her he will stay safe. He then makes the walk to the weatherspoons with his lads for a cooked breakfast, a few pints and a bit of banter. Followed by a train journey to town.

James and his lads step off of the train and run themselves straight into bother as the BBC stand after waiting their arrival. Fights break out that are soon stopped by the police forces that will patrolling every street you could think of. So that they are prepared for any hooliganism between the two rivals.

They head straight to the white bear, the visitors boozer, to get very drunk before the game. Singing and dancing on the bar and tables. Smashing up anything and everything they see. To then take a walk towards the ground with thousands of the visiting Wednesday fans. Deathening the ears of Sheffield with there chanting.

Scanning their tickets one by one to enter the ground. They're in. They head straight towards the concourse to soak up some more booze before kick off. Paradise for James and his lads. Yet again, smashing up anything and everything in site to show their hatred towards Sheffield united.

Twenty minutes into the game, Billy Sharp puts the blades ahead. Absolute distraught for James and his lads as they head straight for the concourse for another pint to drown their sorrows after that moment the ball hit the back of the net. They soon enter the stands again the join the outstanding atmosphere the travelling Wednesday fans were creating despite still being one nil down to their fearsome rivals. The stadium announcer announces there is to be a further two minutes of stoppage time to be played onto the first half. A roar comes from the Wednesday end as they get the ball forward at a swift pace towards United's goal. Gary Hooper finds an opening and lets one fly, goooaaaallll. Straight into the top left-hand corner. Scenes in the Wednesday end where James and his lads break out into celebration. Seconds after United kick off the referee blows for half time.

Meaning only one thing for James and his lads, straight back down into the concourse for as many pints they can fit into the fifteen minute break.

They enter the concourse, and the atmosphere is bouncing. Beer and bodies flying all over the place. Fantastic. James and his lads enter straight into the queue for booze of course. They managed to fit in another 3 pints before the fifteen minutes were over.

Everyone packs back into the terraces for the start of the second half. Squeaky bum time for both sets of fans for a full forty-five minutes. Sixty minutes in and Billy Sharp breaks through the Wednesday defence once more to the round the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net. Three of the four stands going crazy as James, his lads and the rest of the Wednesday supporters have to stand there and take it all in.

Twenty minutes go by and the Wednesday fans start to get a bit more agitated as the minutes go by knowing there is only ten minutes left to scrape anything from this game. But that doesn't stop the Wednesday supporters from singing. Ross Wallace sticks a ball into the box for the big man himself Atdhe Nuhiu to head the ball into the net. Wednesday quickly get hold of the ball and put it back onto the centre spot knowing there is still time to knick a winner in this game.

The full ninety minutes are up but the stadium announcer announces a further four minutes are to be played. Two of those minutes involved the two teams hoofing the ball from one defence to the other and at that point James and his lads are ready for the exits to wait for the BBC outside the ground. But they look over out onto the pitch to see that the ball lands perfectly into the path of Fernando Forestieri to go one on one with the keeper. The keeper comes out steaming towards to ball. But Forestieri saw it coming, he takes the ball round the hopeless keeper and slots it into the empty net. Celebration of the Wednesday fans break out onto the pitch and of course, it was James and his lads that made this happen. Riot teams were straight out onto the scene the evacuate the supporters back onto the terraces. James has never seen anything alike.

They leave the ground absolutely buzzing from the result. James gathers his boys together to head straight down to Ecclesall Road to confront the United firm who are there already waiting for James and his lads to arrive.

This means nothing but trouble, violence breaks out on the middle of the road causing a congestion of traffic and angry beeping horns. The fight moves over onto the pavement. Both sets of fans throwing anything at the rival firm they see. Blood spilled all over the ground. Shop windows smashed, car windows smashed, bones broken. James looks over to see one of his friends, Chris, getting his head smashed in with a brick. He quickly runs over and roundhouse kicks the lad with the brick. But he was too late. The fighting comes to a Holt to look over at Chris. Pure silence and shock by the members involved in the scene.
