Football Hooligan Films

Green Street - Green Street (Dir. Alexander, 2005) is a football hooligan film about a young man who is unjustly expelled from university. He then moves to London and is quickly introduced to the quintessentially British culture that is Football hooliganism. The film stars Elijah Wood, Charlie Hunman and Leo Gregory to name a few. This film obviously is going to be similar to mine as it is based on football hooliganism just as this film is.

I.D. - I.D. (Dir. Davis, 1995) is another Football hooligan film in which four police officers go undercover in London's east end to investigate a sudden up rise of violence at Football matches only to find themselves become apart of this hidden British sub-culture. The film stars Reece Dinsdale, Richard Graham and Perry Fenwick. I think this film is interesting compared to other films about this culture as it involves a plot which isn't as cliché as it involves a character arc from these policemen being policemen and turning to hooligans. I think this is very interesting and would like to incorporate something similar into my storyline.

The Football Factory - The Football Factory (Dir. Love, 2004) is football hooligan film about the insight of the life of a Chelsea football hooligan who lives for violence, sex, drugs and alcohol. The film stars Danny Dyer, Frank Harper and Tamer Hassan. This film takes an interesting take on football hooligan films and incorporates aspects of comedy by involving an actor such as Danny Dyer. This is something I would like to take inspiration from and involve in my film just to give it a little light hearted pin and make the characters feel more real yet still involve the grittiness and true feel of these films.
